Visual Supports and How to Use Them
Monday, February 20 4:00-6:00 PM
This is an introductory training on visual supports and how they can be useful in teaching school age individuals with ASD routines, anticipating change, managing behavior, and more in the classroom, home, and community. We will cover why visual supports are effective and will provide examples of how they may be used in various settings. This presentation is appropriate for parents, teachers, and other professionals that are new to learning this particular strategy or would like a refresher on the topic.
Learning to Connect
Starting February 29, 2012 12:00-2:00 PM
This is a twelve week parent training that will focus on communication, behavior management, and routines. This training is appropriate for families with children between the ages of 18 months and 8 years who have been diagnosed with or shows red flags for autism spectrum disorder. Families will learn how to better understand and support their child’s communication, how to implement positive behavior support strategies, and how to introduce new routines.
